Dezni Turner, LCSW

Founder/Individual Therapist

About me

Hey! I'm Dezni - born and raised in Brooklyn, where the energy of New York shaped who I am as a therapist. After some years on Long Island, I traded my MetroCard for palm trees and made Florida my home six years ago. That mix of New York realness and Florida warmth? It's exactly what you'll get in our sessions.

Education/Experience

My path to becoming your therapist? It started at Stony Brook University, where I earned both my Bachelor's and Master's in Social Work. But my real education came from working with people from all walks of life - from school hallways to hospital rooms to community centers.

Being bilingual (English/Spanish) lets me connect with clients in the language they feel most at home in. And my toolkit? It's filled with approaches that actually work in real life - from CBT when your thoughts feel like they're running the show, to solution-focused work when you're ready for change, to bringing nature into healing through ecotherapy.

I've sat with families processing tough times, teens navigating their world, and young adults trying to find their footing. Each story has taught me something valuable about what healing looks like - and that's what I bring to our sessions.

My approach

Therapy works best when it fits your life, not the other way around. That's why I offer options: traditional office sessions for those who need a dedicated space to exhale, virtual sessions for when life gets hectic, and walk-and-talk therapy for times when moving your body helps move your mind.

In our work together, you'll find that healing isn't one-size-fits-all. Some days you might need a listening ear, others you'll want practical tools to handle what life throws at you. Whatever you're bringing to our sessions, we'll find what works specifically for you.

Fun Facts

Outside the therapy room, I'm probably geeking out over a new podcast, testing recipes (with varying degrees of success!), or going for a walk to clear my head. I'm a constant learner with an addiction to trying new coffee shops - because therapy isn't the only place where good conversations happen!

Sometimes the best paths find us when we least expect them. I didn't grow up dreaming of becoming a therapist, but life had other plans. And honestly? That unexpected journey taught me something I bring to every session: sometimes what looks like a detour turns out to be exactly where we needed to go.
