Dezni Turner, LCSW

Founder/Individual Therapist

About me

Welcome and thank you for stopping by! I am so glad that you’re here. My name is Dezni and I am a New York Native.  I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and spent my high school years and part of my adult life on Long Island.  I traded the Big Apple for Florida approximately six years ago.

Education/Experience

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Certified AutPlay Provider. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Social Work and Master of Social Work degrees at Stony Brook University on Long Island.

I’ve worked extensively with families, children, teens, and young adults. My therapeutic approach encompasses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Ecotherapy and Mindfulness, among others.

As a mental health therapist, I bring a wealth of diverse experience to my practice being bilingual (English/Spanish) and having worked in various therapeutic settings.  My journey in this field has taken me through the not for profit sector, the school system, and children’s hospital setting. My background has equipped me with valuable insights and a well-rounded perspective, enabling me to provide holistic and empathic support to my clients, regardless of their age and circumstances.

My approach

At InnerU Mental Health and Wellness, we believe in the power of individualized care.  I offer both in person and virtual talk therapy sessions, as well as the unique experience of walk and talk therapy.  Each person is unique and I tailor my therapeutic approach to the specific needs and goals of my clients.

I understand that one size does not fit all in the world of mental health.  Whether we are having a conversation in a traditional setting, playing, or while strolling outdoors, my goal is to create a safe, supportive, non judgemental space where we can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences, helping you on your path to healing and personal growth.

Fun Facts

During my free time, you can find me listening to a podcast, trying a new recipe, or going for a walk. I love to travel and learn new things!
